A barcode scanner is an input device that captures and reads the information in a barcode. Basic scanner just records and translates the barcode into numbers and/or letters. That code need to be dispatched to a computer database for further information. That can be done either with a wired connection or wirelessly. A mobile barcode scanner is portable and wireless and can be used for a plethora of industries and it can be scanned from a smartphone.
We can use Android smartphones as a barcode scanner and read scanned values on a connected PC. These smartphones utilize their cameras to scan the code and send the scanned data to the connected/paired Windows PC, with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Smart mobile devices are equipped with image readers that can decode QR codes or barcodes.
